
At first direct we believe it is in your best interests to keep you up to date with information about our products and services which you may find to your benefit, both now and in the future.
However, we recognise that you have the right to request that your information is not used for marketing purposes. We always make it clear to you when we ask you for information (eg email addresses; mobile phone numbers; where you hold your existing products; your buying intentions etc) how this information will be used and we will tell you if this includes using it for marketing purposes.
Our intention is to only provide you with marketing information via the channels you are happy for us to use. We will not communicate with you via a channel where you have either not agreed we may do so or where you have asked us not to contact you via that channel.
We recognise that from time to time, it is important to remind you that if you do not want to receive some or all information from us, then that is your right. In addition you can contact us at any time if you no longer wish to receive marketing from us via any channel or at all.
If you have agreed we may contact you about any banking or financial services product or service offered by first direct or other members of the HSBC Group which we think meets your needs. Our main products are current accounts, mortgages, savings and investments, loans, credit cards and insurance. If you have agreed we may also contact you about our mortgage offers by telephone and about offers and products from third parties which we think may be of interest to you.
We will not pass your details to a third party to use for marketing purposes (without your agreement to do so).
