We know life insurance isn't the easiest of things to think about. But since our life insurance has been designed to give you peace of mind, we've made it as simple as possible to understand as well. Here's what you need to know to start with:

We offer two types of life cover, both of which provide a lump sum in the event of your death during the period of cover (the term). You can choose how much cover you want and for how long. Your monthly premiums remain fixed throughout the term of the policy. The two available types of cover are:

• life cover - where the amount of cover remains level throughout the term
  
  Mortgage Life cover - where the amount of cover decreases over the term at a similar rate to a typical capital repayment mortgage
• our online calculator helps you easily work out what level of cover you might need
• cover provides a lump sum payment if you die before the expiry of the policy, or if you are diagnosed with a terminal illness (see policy summary for details)
• payments are fixed monthly amounts
• you must be resident in the UK and aged between 18 and 64 for Mortgage Life cover or 18 and 67 for Life cover
• you can get an immediate decision online in many cases and once you apply you're immediately covered by our temporary Accidental Death Benefit.
